Tampere School of Domestic Economy is one of the many Art Nouveau school buildings designed by Wivi Lönn. Wivi Lönn was a pioneering female architect who established her practice in the early years of the 1900s. She was especially well-known for her school design skills.

Tampere School of Domestic Economy building is situated in Kirkkokatu, the southwest corner of Tampere downtown area. The building was specially designed for the needs of the school of the domestic economy. It was completed in 1905. The building functions its original use. Near the Tampere School of Domestic Economy, in Hallituskatu are located two other Lönn’s school buildings, Alexander School and Tampere Girls’ School, which are today part of the Wivi Lönn School.
