For architectural programme during the European Parliament Presidency of the Council meetings, Archinfo Finland has put together a selection of the most impressive architectural sites within a 15 minutes walking distance from Finlandia Hall. The selection consists of high profile institutional and commercial buildings of different times, from the 19th century up until today.

The European Parliament Presidency of the Council rotates in an established order among the EU Member States every six months. Finland’s third presidency period begun on 1 July 2019.

During the previous presidency periods in 1999 and 2006, the meetings were arranged in 21 different locations all around Finland. This time all the meetings are concentrated at Finlandia Hall in the heart of Helsinki. The arrangements aim to minimise emissions caused by traveling between different meeting locations. Finland is also compensating the flight emissions of the presidency guests.
