Extract from the Finnish Architecture Biennial Review 2014 jury report:
“Sauna Kotiranta looks fresh and different, yet all the time-honoured elements of a traditional sauna are in their proper place. The black wooden façade accented by neatly piled firewood communicates the building’s function and whispers promise of the relaxing steam that awaits within. This sauna puts a clean, rejuvenated face on a cherished Finnish institution.”
