Keskuskartano “Central Manor” was the first high rise building in Pori, completed in 1962. It stands tall in the middle of much lower urban structure. It consists of a high-rise apartment block of eleven floors and annexe of three floors for commercial premises. Architect Charles Hagan’s office designed the building. Pori based Hagan designed several other apartment blocks that were built in Pori in the 1950s and 1960s.

At the time of the construction, Keskuskartano was the largest social housing project in Northern countries. The development was financed by housing construction commission Arava. Hotel Karhun Kruunu opened its doors in the annexe in 1963. The building still houses a hotel today, Hotel Amado. In 1966 the first department store in Pori, Anttila was opened in the annexe.

In May 2019, a fire destroyed the top floor of the apartment block.
